I am assuming that the 1200+ people who visit this site every day are mostly those who promote websites or products to make money online. So I think we are all basically in the same game.

Predominantly I would think most people reading this, when you strip away the variations on the theme, want to live the dream of passive income.  Is that you?  Is your goal to basically make money online for free?  Do you want to make enough money to lay on the beach while the money ticks in?

Of course you do, but is your dream beach a paradise? Or was the beach you actually reached in reality a dirty, over-crowded local weekender?

Ask Yourself A Proper Question If You Want Success.

One of the questions you see on various forums is variations of the what is the best way to make money online question. Are you aware that there is no “best” way to make money online,  just as in reality ther is no truly “easy” way to make online cash. There are some ways that are instant and scaleable, but to make serious money nothing is “easy”.  So the goal cannot be simply to make easy money as there is no “best” way of achieving this.

So What Is The Reality Of Online Marketing?

So this leaves those of us who live in reality rather than fantasy land, with focusing on a niche and a bit of longer-term work. It also makes me ask the question is it possible to truly make money online for free?

What does free actually mean? No financial investment? What about the hundreds of hours you need to invest to learn enough to make the right decisions and develop your online marketing strategy? Is that time free?

What is your reality?  When you divide your net profit this year by the hours you have worked, what is your hourly rate?  So far this year have you lived a decent quality of life with a good work/life balance, or spent 12 hours a day hunched up over the PC, waiting for things to “happen”?

If you feel you are under achieving why are you under achieving? Was the goal unrealistic?  Did knowledge let you down?

You Need Clarity To Establish Your Online Marketing Reality.

Establishing your reality and where it fits into the reality of attempting to make money online is important.  It is no good convincing yourself that you are doing well when you are not.

You need to look at the bottom line.

Some people are seduced by seeing a few paypal emails drop into their inbox every day.  It is a visual sign they are making money and it can be a buzz, even to the point of an addiction, where the amount and its significance is not important, it is the fact those payments arrive that is proof of success.

So You Need Your Dreams & Goals To Be Tempered With Some Reality….

The reality is that only a few people truly make a significant living online over a long period of time with consistent good results.  I have had great results, but also mediocre ones.

Some of the things I have developed have bombed, while one has just racked up more than 2000 sales with not a single refund request.  That is a stunning success to me that exceeded my expectations.  However on reflection it took me three months to write and research and another three months of promotion, so my return in monetary terms is probably not that much more than the return from my previous day job over half a year.

What it did give me however was lifestyle choices.

And that works for me.  But what about you? Do you have a clear vision?  Are you taking steps to success?

Perhaps you think I am I being negative?  Is this all easy and I am actually making hard work of it?
